Thank you Sheila, we have very much enjoyed our week in your lovely cottage.  ‘Otters Abode’ was recommended by friends and we will also recommend it to others.  Nice that Blockley is just off the beaten track, yet so close to so many places to visit.  We’ve been to Oxford and Stratford Upon Avon and most of the villages in between.  We’ve overloaded our cameras and worn out the phrase “Oh isn’t it lovely!”

Otters is a lovely comfortable home away from home, beautifully presented with much care and attention to detail.  Wish we could have found an “Otter” memento to take home with us but searched in vain!

A delightful two weeks in the charming and peaceful surroundings of Otter’s Abode.  Blockley is a fascinating place, with a wealth of history and it makes an ideal base for exploring this part of the Cotswolds.

A few highlights:
     -          The gardens at Hidcote
     -          Bourton House gardens

-          Batsford Arboretum

-          Birdland (Bourton on the Water)

-          Cotswold Wildlife Park

-          Sudeley Castle

-          Snowshill Manor

-          Upton Park
-
Walks everywhere – Bourton woods if you’re a dog walker!

Do eat at the Great Western Arms: great food, really friendly service and excellent value.  Our favourites:  the haddock and the Swiss chocolate ice cream.

Charming, Charming, Charming!  We loved our stay here - the delightful village, pheasants, birds knocking on the door, golden daffodils, peace and tranquillity.  Loved the fabulous food at the Great Western Arms, the surrounding villages, the Mill at Lower Slaughter, and the grand manors.    Juliet at Stratford was exceptional (restricted view tickets are fine and good value for money).  Endless delight!

Otters Abode was well equipped with a delightful and airy design.  Thank you so much we hope to come again.

Thank you so much Sheila – the cottage is a real treat and a peaceful haven after a long exciting walk in the nearby villages.  We particularly enjoyed Broadway (for the lovely thatched cottages) and Arlington Row (for the old atmosphere!)

The cottage is ideal to visit the Cotswolds.  We also managed to visit Stratford Upon Avon, and Blenheim Palace in the w3k.  We hope we will be able to come back.

Such a shame we only had a weekend to stay at Otter's Abode! What a lovely clean, well preserved cottage. Lovely setting and with friends so close by we will be coming back for sure. This cottage is by far one of the best we have stayed in. Thank you and see you again in the summer.

Words can hardly explain the thrill we have felt here. We just love everything about Otter’s Abode, Blockley village and surrounding areas. Through the internet we had built a picture in our minds and this turned out to be even more beautiful than we ever could have imagined. We all found the beds so luxuriously cosy, especially as I was quite ill the first few days so it was such a comfort. The attention to detail throughout was so appreciated. It really felt like home from home. We leave today with a real lump in our throats, but have vowed that we will return. We also have friends who we know will come after our recommendations. Many many thanks Dettlaff, Serene, David and Carol Dombrowsky Kuazulu Natal – South Africa P.S. We had a wonderful dinner last night at The Crown Hotel around the corner. Very good food and wonderful service.

My mother and I were delighted with the accommodation at Otter’s Abode – ideal for Mum (92) with the bedroom and bathroom so close! We have been out and about in the area, but also enjoyed the peace of being in the cottage and having friends visit us. We will definitely return! Kind regards Peggy Odquist Julia Mullen (Solihull) P.S.(We have a house in Mallorca – ownersdirect.co.uk – B1038 – perhaps we can swap!!) Peggy

Beautiful cottage, fabulous location – didn’t matter that the weather wasn’t good! Batsford Arboretum & Falconry are well worth a visit. So is the home of the Pudding Club – the Three Ways House Hotel in Mickleton. We ate in ‘Randalls’ and the meal was among the best we’ve ever had. We had a very relaxing stay at Otter's Abode and hope to visit again.

Otter’s Abode is a truly delightful holiday cottage and one that we have enjoyed every single moment of our stay. The location is so very beautiful – glorious wildlife abounding, friendly neighbours, peace and tranquillity; all of which have contributed to the rest and recuperation we have so enjoyed. Thank you for our stay. We certainly hope to visit again.

The four of us really enjoyed our stay at Otter’s Abode.  It’s a great cottage – very tranquil setting and a beautiful village.  Nice to see there were lots of ideas for things to do and the house was equipped with games and films to keep us entertained.  (Good time to note that the McKeowns beat the Shinkmans by 82 points in Scrabble!)  We will certainly recommend the cottage to our friends.  Many thanks
